Finally Philadelphia get their "SPEAGLES"

It's amusing, to say the least, how Philadelphia Eagles fans are emerging from their collective comatose state. The timing of McNabb's flops over the years seemed to have been donned in a cloak of invisibility for the most avid fans. And as Reid, the enabler, curiously defied logic by repeatedly failing to pull for the team, instead choosing to pull for his has been QB, Philly fans remained defiantly oblivious, lashing out at those such as myself who occasionally pointed out the obvious, that the birds are cooked and unpalatable. Finally, on yesterday, the scavenger vs scavenger contest resulted in the Ravens exposing the heretofore invisible, to many, stinkiness from the Eagles' leadership. Hopefully this lastest debacle will pave the way for an organization that is worthy of the type of fanatical loyalty that is a trademark of the city of Philadelphia. Owens was right!

Ya know how the black dude get's killed in movies...

Come on now. Don't act like you hadn't noticed. And I guess I have to say that Denzel killing his character off in Training Day significantly diminished my race card angle. Conversely the recent killing off of Warrick Brown from CSI, put me in a zone from which I'm not likely to recover for some time. I mean, really, killing off the black dude is one thing, but a cutey like Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown) has to be close to a mortal sin or something!( I know that's a t.v. series and nothing lasts forever.)
But surprise surprise, this post is not about killing off the black dude. It's about about an even more agitating cinematic standard, the dumb white girl.
Lately I've discovered an inability to be horrified by horror movies due to consistent inclusion of a stupid white girl character. The horror factor is diluted by the you stupid bitch factor. I mean, seriously, fear and shock are overshadowed by the agitation with a character who is driven to do the opposite of that which one drop of common sense or rationality would dictate. I have developed a pretty good nose for identifying movies that are likel to suck, but I recently was cajoled by an associate into going to see a stinker. I don't want to mention the movie for fear the reader will be distracted with details, when the focus is on the convention of the dumb white girl.
Normally I deal with my disgust for these movies by trying to avoid going to see them. Sadly I heard a brother who had brought two youngsters with him to see this latest movie say very loudly "See she's stupid. She deserves whatever she gets." That got me to thinking that the stupid white girl might actually have some real sociologically or psychologically detrimental connotations. Whereas I was getting the message what a pathetic movie, those kids were getting the message the stupid white girl deserves what she's about to get. Now, before I bring this to an end, allow me to turn back briefly to the subject I used to lure you into this discourse, the black dude always getting killed off. In light of the potential effect of the stupid white girl phenomenon, what connotations might killing the black dude have on the psyche and society?

HALLUCINATIN HILL HILL

It's look into the mirror time for the Democratic Party. Hillary's "misstatement" with regard to the presumably indelible circumstances of having been an eyewitness to hostile gunfire, pretty much ensures a slam dunk for Republican competitor John McCain. Deliberate or inadvertent, it speaks to her lack of reliability even more strongly than her pseudo shift in her Iraq policy stance. Straggling the fence just enough to appease the audience of the day is Hillary's M.O. But fabricating or hallucinating having to dart out of harm's way to escape bullets flying is just mind boggling. Is the U.S. Presidency going to have to subjected to four more years of mentally defected administration? This is serious! A person usually doesn't forget being shot at. And unless suffering from some form of mental illness, people generally don't mistake debarking a plane for being in a hail of gunfire. So my question for Americans still considering voting for this untried, unproven former mysteriously numb first lady of an embarrassingly philandering president is " what are you trying to do to this country?!"
This is not about electing the first woman president or the first black president. It's about electing the best person for the job. If you think that electing a shell shocked version of an individual who's committed to perpetuating the policies of the current confederation of dunces is best for America, then elect Hillary Clinton as the sacrificial nominee of the Democratic Party for John McCain to demolish.
